Dispatches the appropriate agency (e.g., Police, Fire, and/or Emergency Medical Services), to the incident location through use of a radio and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System; and coordinates multi-unit, multi-jurisdictional response calls. The radio dispatcher maintains constant awareness of available response units, in order to dispatch calls appropriately and efficiently.

The Radio Dispatcher also maintains contact with response units to provide information and instructions regarding emergencies, and assists in the coordination of an accurate response. Additional duties include computer entry and retrieval of data housed within the Georgia Crime Information Center (G.C.I.C.) and the National Crime Information Center (N.C.I.C) and assisting the public with information related to Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Service activity.
