Voter Registration Deadline is October 7th for November Municipal Elections in Fulton County | Print |

The Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections reminds residents who intend to vote in the General Municipal Elections on November 5, 2013, that the voter registration deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2013.

Richard Barron, Director of Registration & Elections, encourages new Fulton County residents to register to vote and recommends that all registered voters ensure that their information on file with the Department is up-to-date.  Voters can verify their information by logging into My Voter Page at http://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/MVP/mvp.do .

To register to vote in the state of Georgia, you must satisfy these requirements: 1) be a citizen of the United States; 2) be a legal resident of Georgia and of the county in which you wish to vote; 3) be at least 18 years of age on Election Day. Once the Department receives the voter registration application, precinct cards are mailed within three weeks of that receipt.

Fulton Board Announces Dwight Ferrell as County Manager | Print |

At its September 18, 2013 meeting, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners named Dwight Ferrell to serve as County Manager, effective October 7, 2013, at a salary of $240,000 per year with overall compensation not to exceed $260,000.

Flu Vaccinations Available at Fulton County Health Centers | Print |

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a yearly flu vaccine for everyone 6 months of age and older as the first and most important step in protecting against this serious disease. Fulton County Health Services encourages everyone to get vaccinated, especially children. While there are many different flu viruses, the flu vaccine protects against at least the three main flu strains that research indicates will cause the most illness during the flu season. This year, some formulations of the vaccine   actually protect against four strains. The Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness is providing flu vaccines at six centers from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm.

Fulton County Hosts Open House Meetings for South Fulton Comprehensive Transportation Plan | Print |

The County seeks public input on major transportation projects included in the plan 

In January 2013, Fulton County in conjunction with the cities in South Fulton held three meetings to present findings on the Existing Conditions and the Needs Assessment of the South Fulton Comprehensive Transportation Plan (SFCTP). The consulting team, with input received during the public meetings and the completion of the technical analysis, drafted a set of project recommendations for the next twenty years.
