Fulton County Offers Free Session on Managing Asthma | Print |

As part of its Fulton Asthma Improvement and Reduction Project (F.A.I.R.), Fulton County Health Services will offer a free education session for all concerned residents to help them learn how to identify and manage asthma.  The session will take place on Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 6:00pm – 7:00pm at the Adamsville Regional Health Center located at 3700 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Atlanta, GA 30331.

Immunizations are not just for children.  Adults also need to be current with their vaccinations.   In recognition of National Immunization Month, Fulton County Health Services is promoting adult immunizations.   Immunizations are important so that adults may protect themselves and those they are in close contact with from serious diseases and illnesses.  

Fulton County Cooperative Extension Offers Free Workshop for Aspiring Entrepreneurs | Print |

Fulton County Cooperative Extension will sponsor a free Money Matters!: Basic Personal Finance for Aspiring Entrepreneurs  workshop on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, from 1:00pm – 4:30pm at the Northeast Spruill Oaks Library located at 9560 Spruill Road in Johns Creek, GA 30022.  Pre-registration is required by August 24.  Refreshments will be provided for registered participants.

Fulton Health Services Offers Pertussis Vaccine | Print |

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, whooping cough, also known as pertussis, has recently increased in the eight-county metropolitan Atlanta area of Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fulton, Gwinnett, Newton, and Rockdale counties. As of July 28, 2012, 95 cases of whooping cough have been reported, compared to 51 cases during the same time period last year.  The pertussis vaccine is available at Fulton County Health Centers.

The Fulton County Economic Development Division is pleased to announce the launch of http://www.fultonecondev.org. This new webpage provides businesses with useful information on Fulton County, tax incentives, and resources for doing business in the County. 

Fulton County Health Services Chosen for New HIV Care Collaborative | Print |

Fulton County Health Services has been chosen to be a part of a three-year, $3 million initiative that will support three public health departments (Houston and Philadelphia in addition to Fulton County) to connect more people living with HIV in high-burden communities to the care they need to stay healthy. The initiative will be launched at the start of the XIX International AIDS Conference in Washington, D.C. with funding support from the Merck Company Foundation.

Fulton County Commissioner William “Bill” Edwards invites District 7 residents to a public meeting regarding a proposed name change. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, July 24 at 6 p.m. at the South Fulton Government Service Center, 5600 Stonewall Tell Road.

Job search assistance located in the new Adamsville Regional Health Center

Fulton County citizens seeking employment now have another convenient resource center.  The Adamsville Workforce Development Resource Center is now open to assist job seekers.  The office opened following the June 2012 opening of the Adamsville Regional Health Center at 3700 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in Atlanta.
