Fulton Board Adopts 2013 Budget with No Tax Increase | Print |

At its January 23, 2013 meeting, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners adopted a 2013 General Fund budget totaling $571,813,239.  The budget includes $8.7 million in reductions compared to the 2012 actual expenditures and includes continued funding for Grady Hospital.

Fulton BOC Award Lifeline Animal Project Contract to Provide Animal Services for Fulton County | Print |

On January 23, 2013, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved to award Lifeline Animal Project the contract to provide animal services to Fulton County’s residents.  Lifeline will take over providing services upon the termination of the contract with the current vendor, The Barking Hound Foundation.  The Foundation currently has a month-to-month contract to provide the services.

Fulton Animal Services and the Georgia Department of Agriculture Rescue 14 Horses from Local Horse Farm | Print |

Fulton County Animal Services in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Agriculture impounded 14 horses today from the Heritage Farms Horse Farm located in South Fulton County on Butner Road.

Animal Services issued 14 citations to the operator of the horse farm citing cruelty to animals.  The horses suffered from infections, malnutrition and a variety of other illnesses due to neglect.

Clerk of Superior Court Begins Space Saver Renovation Project in Closed File Room | Print |

Fulton County Clerk of Superior Court, Cathelene “Tina” Robinson (Atlanta Judicial Circuit) has announced the Fulton County Clerk of Superior Court, Closed File Room, Space Saver Renovation Project. This renovation plan, which will maximize space and assist the Clerk’s office in delivering more efficient customer service began on January 4, 2013 and is slated for completion in April of 2013.

Fulton Chairman John Eaves' Statement on Newtown Tragedy | Print |

Chairman John Eaves said today, "On behalf of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, we would like to express our deepest sympathy at the tragic loss of life today in Newtown, Connecticut. In accordance with the directive given by President Barack Obama, the Board of Commissioners has ordered that flags at County facilities and grounds be flown at half-staff as we join the country in mourning this senseless act of violence upon innocent children and the dedicated teachers who served and protected them. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and the Newtown community."

Flu Vaccine Available at Fulton County Health Centers | Print |

Flu season is here. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), now is the time to make sure you're protected. The agency says flu season is ramping up early this year - for the first time in almost a decade and Fulton County Health Services encourages residents (ages 6 months and older) to protect themselves and their families by getting vaccinated. Vaccines are available at six health centers from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. through the Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness.

The Fulton County Office of Equal Employment Opportunity & Disability Affairs has released a new study that evaluates Fulton County’s access to programs, services and activities for persons with disabilities and overall compliance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
