Five-week program begins June 12

For the third consecutive year, Fulton County will kick off the Summer InternshipThe County will invest  more than  $300,000  to provide over 150  youth, ages 16-24,  with training and paid employment in a wide range of career fields to prepare them for future success.  The Summer Internship Program begins June 12 and ends on July 15.

The Summer Youth Internship Program focuses on four priority service areas. These focus areas include: providing economic access by establishing education to employment pathways for disconnected youth, increasing communications outreach, providing social and emotional learning programs that support quality out-of-school time, and ensuring safety and justice by providing young people with alternatives to unhealthy behaviors.

Before beginning work at 75 designated job sites, youth interns received intensive orientation sessions to advise them of established procedures for reporting to work, appropriate work dress and behavior.   The orientation sessions provided guidance and advice on carrying out their responsibilities at the highest levels to ensure that they establish a track record of excellence in carrying out their responsibilities.
