Emergency and Transitional Housing Facilities Need Volunteers | Print |

Fulton County’s Office of Emergency and Transitional Housing needs volunteers during the holidays and throughout the year.  Interested citizens can assist during the day or evening hours at Jefferson Place, Odyssey Villas and the City of Refuge.

Volunteers are wanted to work with men, women and children or married couples with children.  Help is needed to provide tutorial and remedial education services for those facility residents who are taking advantage of education classes to help them prepare to search for permanent and stable employment.  Emergency and Transitional Housing collaborates with the Office of Workforce Development to provide counseling, education and work skills to help homeless citizens to successfully find employment.

Volunteers can donate one to three hours of community service daily or weekly. Volunteers must be over the age of 18; however, students in need of community service hours can volunteer as long as they are chaperoned by a parent or guardian during all volunteer hours. Applicants must be willing to submit to any required background checks.

Emergency and Transitional Housing and the Office of Workforce Development are divisions of the Department of Housing and Human Services. For more information, call 404-874-0412.
