Equine Education Day begins at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 30th.  The festivities will happen at Camp Fulton-Truitt 4-H Center located at 4300 Herschel Road in College Park, Georgia 30337.  Residents are encouraged call (404) 332-2400 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. “We hope children and teens who attend this event will look at the equine industry as a career option,” states Menia Chester, Director of Fulton County Cooperative Extension.  “We realize that this event might be the first time some of them are actually exposed to horses and the equine industry.”

Participants will enjoy a mini-rodeo, featuring riding demonstrations, including steeplechase and dressage, roping, and barrel racing.  Equine educators from the University of Georgia and Fort Valley State University will be available to talk about the industry and various careers associated with horses and the care of horses.

Fulton County Cooperative Extension, the Atlanta Black Rodeo Association, the Horse Industry Committee of Georgia, the City of College Park and Favor House are sponsors of the first annual Equine Education Day.
