4-H Continues to Educate and Excite Youth | Print |

Fulton County Cooperative Extension will sponsor an Information Meeting in North Fulton for 4th, 5th and 6th graders and their parents on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 6:45 pm at the Johns Creek Environmental Camp located at 8100 Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell, GA 30022.  4-H is free to join.

4-H is the world’s largest and oldest youth organization dedicated to working within the community to act as a catalyst for change.  4-H fosters an innovative, “learn by doing” approach with proven results.  The 4-H Study of Positive Youth Development, a longitudinal study conducted by the Institute for Applied Research in Youth Development at Tufts University, shows youth engaged with 4-H are:

  • Nearly two times more likely to get better grades in school;
  • Nearly two times more likely to plan to go to college;
  • 41 percent less likely to engage in risky behaviors; and
  • 25 percent more likely to positively contribute to their families and communities.

Fulton County 4-H’ers have fun making learning a lifelong goal.  To register for this exciting event, call 404-613-7670.  Parents are required to participate in the meeting along with their children.
