Fulton County Health Services Holds Green Certification Webinar for Restaurant Owners | Print |

The Fulton County Department of Health Services continues to attract restaurant owners and operators to adopt environmentally sustainable practices for the local food service industry.   Restaurant owners and operators are invited to learn about the benefits of operating a sustainable “green” restaurant and the added benefit of being certified as a “green” operation.  Call in to the Conference Dial-in Number: (712) 775-7400; Participant Access Code: 796561#.

The Fulton County Green Restaurant Program supports Fulton County restaurants who participate by reducing waste, conserving energy and water, using greener chemicals, protecting health through smoke-free environments, and procuring more sustainable packaging and building materials.  Participation in the program is voluntary and open to permitted food service establishments.

Fulton County has partnered with the Green Restaurant Association (GRA) to implement the GRA’s highly esteemed environmental certification program throughout the County’s 4,700 restaurants.  Restaurants that meet particular environmental accomplishments will be able to boast a 2, 3 or 4 Star Certified Green Restaurant® co-branded between GRA and Fulton County.  According to the National Restaurant Association, the restaurant industry is the second largest private-sector employer in the country.
