Fulton County Arts & Culture Holds Auditions for the 10th Annual Southwest Arts Center Teen Artists Academy | Print |

Fulton County Southwest Arts Center is looking for talented teens to participate in the 10th Annual Fulton County Teen Artists Academy summer program. The Teen Artists Academy is an intensive audition only four-week summer arts program for students ages 13-18. Students may audition in disciplines of visual art, music, dance, voice and theater. The program runs weekdays and begins July 5 and continues through July 30, 2016, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Under the guidance of professional artists participants will receive intensive instruction and draw inspiration from current events and social issues, to create an original production.   Teen Artists Academy students use their life experiences and raw emotion to create and develop original works of visual art, literary art, dramatic performances, choreography and original music compositions.   The teen’s interdisciplinary creations are combined to create a culminating theatrical production and gallery exhibition. Prospective participants must commit to continuous attendance of all four weeks of the program.  

Auditions will be held Saturday, Saturday, March 12, 2016 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Southwest Arts Center (915 New Hope Road, Atlanta, GA 30331). Interested students should fill out the application packet that is available on the Fulton County Arts & Culture website, www.fultonarts.org. The audition requirements for each area of study are listed in the application packet.

Students chosen for the academy will be notified via e-mail by Saturday, April 9, 2016. There is a $50 activity fee which is due on the first day of camp.
