Fulton Appoints Alicia Ivey to MARTA Board | Print |

Alicia IveyAt its September 21 meeting, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved Ms. Alicia Ivey to represent Fulton County on the Board of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA). In this role, Ms. Ivey will be charged with protecting the investment of Fulton County taxpayers and providing input in the possible expansion of MARTA in the future.

“Ms. Ivey’s knowledge and expertise will not only benefit MARTA but all of Fulton County,” said Fulton County Board of Commissioners Chairman John H. Eaves. “She is very well respected in the community and has proven her leadership in forming collaborative partnerships to achieve successful outcomes. She is a welcome addition who will bring insight and energy to the MARTA board.”

“As a lifelong citizen of Fulton County I am truly honored to be appointed to the MARTA board. I look forward to serving Fulton County my fellow citizens in this capacity,” said Ms. Ivey.

Alicia M. Ivey is the President of Goldbergs Concessions which provides food and beverage restaurant services, operating at facilities at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the Atlanta Braves All Star Bar and Grill and other venues. Ms. Ivey is also the Chairman of Phoenix Drilling Corporation, a full service environmental and geotechnical drilling firm based in Atlanta. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Reinhardt College and an Master of Business Administration from Argosy University. She holds a number of leadership positions with community organizations, including the Atlanta Chapter of the National Black MBA, The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, the Atlanta Business League. She is a 2011 graduate of Leadership Atlanta Alumni, and her business been honored by Atlanta Tribune Magazine.
